GSP Cancels Lookout for Hit and Run Driver
A person has turned themselves in to authorities and is cooperating, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
The Georgia State Patrol has cancelled the lookout for a white Ford believed to have been involved in the alleged hit and run on Friday night in Monroe that injured 76-year-old William Scarborough.
"Earlier today, a person came to the Georgia State Patrol post in Monroe with the vehicle and the person is cooperating with the investigating trooper," officials said in a media advisory. "The person will be interviewed and investigators will then meet with prosecutors to review the findings before a determination of charges is made."
Scarborough was struck by a vehicle on West Spring Street on Friday evening while walking home from Bingo. He was life-flighted to Atlanta Medical Center where he remained in critical condition on Monday, according to GSP officials.
