I recently e-mailed Danny Roberts, Fire Chief, Loganville regarding the changed in the PPC rating for the city. His comments should be of interest to the whole community.

I personally want to give a word of praise to our city for their efforts in saving money while at the same time increasing our protection.

To Fire Chief Roberts,
Comments/Questions/Issues: I see that the PPC rating will drop from a 5 to a 4. How will this possible affect our insurance premium?

Answer- The lower a PPC number the better it us for a community. The rating is from 1-10 with1 being the best, however; there are no 1's in the state of Georgia.
With Loganville Fire going to a 4 your fire hazard insurance should reduce in premium, I called a few insurance agents and the rough figure is around 20-40 dollars per year. Not all insurance companies use ISO so you need to check with your agent.

More importantly, what does this say about the cities ability to protect its citizens?

Answer- I feel that it says a lot about how we protect our Answer: Loganville Fire was able to drop a point without any increase in tax dollars to the citizens. We will continue to improve where we can. My goal for LFD is to reach a rating of 3. Loganville Fire is committed to providing the best service possible.

Thank you for your concern,
Danny Roberts, Fire Chief
