It says Around Town but the headline is UTAH. Utah is not near Natick!! I think everyone should notRead More open an article on Patch unless they see their town's name in the headline. So If it doesn't say Natick, then we all know it is not LOCAL to the Natick Patch. The less clicks these Patch sites get, the fewer advertisers they will get and then perhaps they will realize if we want sensational news from across the country we'd go back to Patch's former owners AOL and the HuffPost! Those here from other Patch sites - I think you should do the same only click on articles that mention your community's name. No name. No click!

I am a Christian and have accepted Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son of God as my Lord andRead More Saviour. Some of you posting must not have actually heard what Pastor John Hagee said. What he said was, that when other blood moons ocurred that something significant ocurred regarding the Jews, the blood moon of 1492 and the expulsion edict to remove all Jews from Spain, the 1948 blood moon Israel became a nation, the 1967 blood moon and the six day war resulting in some Israeli land being reclaimed. Pastor Hagee said NOTHING about the end of the world ocurring to coincide with the four blood moons ( he did however say people would say he did - which looking at these posts some have misconstrued his words). Perhaps all the posters that are commenting on what Pastor Hagee said should actually hear what he said PRIOR to commenting/mocking/judging. Pastor Hagee and his statements. Perhaps, in time, we will see if the government of Israel has made a significant decision today. Personally (my very own personal opinion- no Biblical prophecy just me), I hope they decide NOT to ever release any more terrorists from prison to bribe the palestinians to "talk" about making a peace agreement.....just saying....

When should people have to register as sex offenders?
Jean Harlow March 26, 2014 at 04:10 pm
I watched over my children too, but it didn't prevent the abuse. You say that to protect ONE child,Read More that it's better than protecting the rights of a criminal. That's the issue. The registry ISNT protecting any children. But it does have unintentional consequences that affect the spouses, children, parents of those listed on the registry. You made wrong choices in your life, and got addicted to drugs. You turned your life around, and living an honorable life. But those convicted of s*x offenses are not allowed that same liberty. You say no one has proposed a plan that will protect children and change the registry, yet I have! Leave the registry to be available to LE ONLY. Then offer prevention services and education, that will prevent children from being harmed. Yet, not enough people are speaking up and demanding our law makers to work on prevention services that will decrease the # of victims. Since the registry has been made public, the numbers haven't decreased at all (I believe they have increased, but don't know that for sure). I'm tired of media & politicians lying to us, saying the registry will protect us, when it does nothing of the sort. The media lies so they can get ratings or sell papers, politicians lie, because they want to be re -elected. I have no reason to lie! My benefit is leaving a legacy that I was able to protect families from living this nightmare. As a parent, I understand your protectiveness. But we have been told to look for the monster hiding in the park bushes, waiting to strike, when in reality, they are people we know and trust with our kids, but are struggling with a battle beyond themselves to control without help. When you were addicted, were you able to kick your addiction on your own, or were you able to seek help? If you sought help, if you knew you would be prosicuted for using illegal drugs, would you have sought help? You have to admit, it makes sense. If it makes sense, then I emplore you to talk to your legislators to change the system and implement treatment programs for those who seek help if having devient thoughts.

Steven: You sound like a very honest and compassionate man. I applaud you for all you have done forRead More your wife and family. That's honorable. I stand behind your sentiments about who you leave your children with and knowing who they are staying over night with, as I am the same way. I protect my children to the point they often got mad at me and despised my decisions. That's why it was so very hard to see my son convicted and handcuffed in a court of law. You see, the young lady lied about where and when this supposed "offense" took place. I KNEW where my son was and that he couldn't have possibly harmed her....he was at work, at a place behind our home. I could literally see his car! Yet, she got away with her lies and law enforcement never checked his alibis. Nor did our defense attorney think it was pertinent to bring alibis in his defense because she felt the jury would see through the young lady's lies. You asked a question, " What has this world come to when we worry more about the rights of our criminals then protecting our kids?" that I would like to answer. I am concerned for our nation's children. ALL of them for many reasons. Yes, I don't want harm done to a child any more than you do. Do you realize that 39.6% of all sexual crimes reported are accusing perpetrators who are under the age of 18? (10% of those are under the age of 12) Do you realize that more children are neglected, murdered and abused in any given year than they are molested? WE could safe our children from prosecution, neglect, murder AND abuse with the monies that are wasted on the registry. It's called education and family support. THAT's where our time, money and resources need to be spent. Again, your opinions matter to me. Together, we can all make a difference.
What do you think?
Wildermann March 16, 2014 at 06:55 pm
Our nation has consistently maintained that parents possess a fundamental right to raise theirRead More children as they see fit. This belief has been upheld by our judiciary in numerous Supreme Court cases that reflect the American people's longstanding commitment to parental rights. Many believe that it is critical that we place the current Supreme Court doctrine on parental rights into the explicit text of the United States Constitution in order to preserve the vital child-parent relationship.
Wildermann March 16, 2014 at 07:06 pm
The law's concept of the family rests on a presumption that parents possess what a child lacks inRead More maturity, experience, and capacity for judgment required for making life's difficult decisions. More important, historically it has recognized that natural bonds of affection lead parents to act in the best interests of their children. The statist notion that governmental power should supersede parental authority in all cases because some parents abuse and neglect children is repugnant to American tradition. Simply because the decision of a parent is not agreeable to a child or because it involves risks does not automatically transfer the power to make that decision from the parents to some agency or officer of the state. - Parham v. J. R., 442 U.S. 584 (1979) The fundamental liberty interest of natural parents in the care, custody, and management of their child does not evaporate simply because they have not been model parents or have lost temporary custody of their child to the State. Even when blood relationships are strained, parents retain a vital interest in preventing the irretrievable destruction of their family life. Until the State proves parental unfitness, the child and his parents share a vital interest in preventing erroneous termination of their natural relationship. - Santosky v. Kramer, 455 U.S. 745 (1982) The liberty interest at issue in this case-the interest of parents in the care, custody, and control of their children-is perhaps the oldest of the fundamental liberty interests recognized by this Court. In light of this extensive precedent, it cannot now be doubted that the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment protects the fundamental right of parents to make decisions concerning the care, custody, and control of their children. The problem here is not that the Washington Superior Court intervened, but that when it did so, it gave no special weight at all to Granville's determination of her daughters' best interests. More importantly, it appears that the Superior Court applied exactly the opposite presumption. The Due Process Clause does not permit a State to infringe on the fundamental right of parents to make childrearing decisions simply because a state judge believes a 'better' decision could be made. - Troxel v. Granville, 530 U.S. 57 (2000)

UNATTENDED - NOT CARED FOR - DESERTED - ALONE! Is there a LAW against leaving a child/toddler aloneRead More in their home ( so daddy can go out high and get drunk)? Is there a law against leaving a child/toddler alone in a store and leaving leaving them so you can go get high and drunk? Is there a law about leaving a child/toddler alone in a movie theater and leaving to go get high and drunk? Is there a law about leaving a child/toddler alone in a public park, airport, library, hospital, restaurant, sporting arena, Wal Mart, church, or on a street to go get high and drunk? NO? then let the guy go.... BUT..... if we think it is wrong to leave a child/toddler alone in any of the above places to go get drunk and get high and basically use the carseat as a babysitter then WE HAVE A PROBLEM! THIS was child abandoned, pure and simple. This child has already learned to not trust others. This child all ready knows the reality of not being loved. Octo Slash February 27, 2014 at 08:35 am
Trains are heavier and faster than can be comprehended. This train might have been on the brakesRead More for a mile or more before it struck the crew. As for not hearing a whistle, the wind blowing the wrong way will get you killed, as it can carry even a train whistle's big sound directly away from you. All the time you hear about someone killed by a train and you think, 'How could that happen?' but fact is, most people killed by trains are in their cars, and they figure they can beat the train, but when you're in a car looking sideways at a train, there's almost no way for your brain to calculate the train's speed. Obviously.

I didn't think to read about it on the web until one day a person I didn't even know told me I had real bad breath and said he had it once too and told me to check online for a site called Oraltech Labs as it worked for him to cure his bad breath. I was thinking how nice he was as most people just hold their nose and walk away from me. Anyway I followed Oraltech Labs bad breath cure program and after a week I noticed my tongue started turning red and the bad taste was gone from my mouth. I started noticing people had stopped holding their nose and trying to get away from me. A few months later I bumped into that guy again. I told him I used his advice and thought it worked, he ask me to breath out in to his face while he smelt it and he's like smiling and said my breath is fresh now. I could have hugged him, I didn't tell him how I felt just a few months ago, but he and that program were a life saver to me. Don't let bad breath ruin your life like it tried to do to me.
