The Monroe Area High School Purple Hurricane Football Team kicks off the season at home in the Purple Pit on Friday, Aug. 31, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. against the Loganville Red Devils.
A parade and pep rally on Aug. 17 in downtown Monroe gave the community an opportunity to meet the team.
