What Can Be Done to Revive the Area Around the Blaine Street School Building?

The old Blaine Street Elementary School in Monroe is now empty and the area around the old school building looks deserted. What do you think would help revive the area?

Blaine Street Elementary School students in Monroe were excited about starting off the new school year in a brand building, in a whole new area. Instead of returning to the hallways of the old building on Blaine Street, students now attend Harmony Elementary School on Harmony Church Road in Monroe.

But with the closing of the old Blaine Street school building, the area around Blaine Street now looks desolate and deserted. Across the street, the building that once housed the Food Lion and several of the adjoining store fronts also remain empty.

What do you think could be done to help revive this area?
