Walton County Taxes Not Expected to Go Up

Special meeting called for Monday to set the Millage rate.

There will be a special called meeting of the Walton County Board of Commissioners on Monday to set the 2012 millage rate. BOC Chairman Kevin Little said the county would not be going up on taxes for Walton County citizens in 2012.

"Walton County is doing good financially so we will not be going up on taxes," Litte said to members of the TRIAD meeting on Sept. 7. "If you paid 100 last year you're going to pay 100 again this year."

The meeting to set the millage rate is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at the Board of Commissioners Offices, Hammond Street, Monroe. The meeting is open to the public.
