Walton County 2012 Election Results

Nathan Purvis wins the City of Monroe District 3 Seat

If 2008, 36,147 voters in Walton County cast ballots, or 71 percent of the 50,919 registered voters in the county at that time. If history is anything to go by, Gov. Mitt Romney will get the lions share of the Walton County vote. In 2008, 27,253 votes, 75.54 percent, were cast for the Republican nominee, John McCain and 8,469 or 23.47 percent for President Barack Obama.

That means that in Walton County Romney is a heavy favorite to carry the county vote over President Barack Obama.

Republicans won the majority of the county vote in all precincts except for one. Obama got 53.42 percent of the vote in North Monroe and came a little closer with 46.79 percent in the East Monroe precinct.
