So very sad! Praying for the family. I live near there and travel that road often. Just curious, how close were either of these accidents to the home that owns all the Peacocks? They are often in the road and with the already very dangerous curves it just adds to the danger for drivers. Drivers really do need to take EXTREME care when driving on this road!

It's right there Susan - both were almost at the same spot. My son came up on the accident on his way home from picking up my grandson from LCA today. So sad, thoughts and prayers with the family.

That now really makes me question if that could have contributed to the problem. Many times I've had to slam on brakes because of the peacocks. I know they are there but never quite remember exactly where. They still *get me* sometimes. If someone doesn't know or thinking about it it could easily create a devastating situation. I love Peacocks but...

It is so very sad about this tradegy. This is on ongoing problem on Ho Hum Hollow. I have lived on this road for years and #1 it is NOT a cut through. #2 the speed limit is 35 mph. That is why. We have farms, deer and every driver needs to be watchful of peacocks which by the way have been here for over 50 years. I mourn this young lady and the countless others that have wrecked, overturned while speeding down this road. I hope this will cause the Walton County Sheriff or GSP to take appropriate steps to stop the speeding and then we don't have to mourn these lives lost. The peacocks are a good 1/2 mile up the road. I can pretty much vouch that peacocks did not cause this accident. Sad, so very sad. Slow down people or someone else will get hurt

So sad to see these lives cut short! Condolences to her family. Its a reminder of just how quickly it can all end. However as a resident who lives on the other side of 78 on Lee Peters Road we see our fair share of speeders and close calls too. We worry that it will only be a matter of time until we see a fatal wreck due to speed and distracted drivers. You know something needs to happen when there are this many wrecks and residents fear getting their mail out of their mailbox etc. due to the cars flying by. These roads are country roads, home to families and farms not a speedway to the other side of the county. No life is worth saving a few extra minutes on the road. Lets not have to bury anymore sons or daughters, wives or husbands, mothers or fathers - Walton County please slow down!
