Walton County Sheriff’s Office Zone Alert, Aug. 22-25

The Walton County Sheriff's Office responded to the following incident reports.

The following reports were handled by the Walton County Sheriff's Office between Aug. 22-25.

Zone 1

  • Area Check – An unknown subject, on Springview Trail in Magnolia Estates, was reportedly ringing doorbells and running.
  • Hit and Run – A vehicle was struck on Hightower Trail and the driver of the other vehicle fled the scene. Walton County deputies made contact with the subject and he was cited for leaving the scene of an accident.

  • Arrest – A subject was arrested on Walnut Drive for an outstanding warrant out of Hall County.

Zone 3

  • Juvenile Complaint – Three juveniles were cited for Curfew Violations after damaging a mailbox on Evergreen Drive. The owner did not press charges after the parents agreed to pay for the damages.
  • Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to an alarm on Poplar Ridge in Poplar Ridge subdivision. All windows and doors appeared secure.
  • Burglary Report – Cash was taken from a safe at a residence on Hestertown Rd. A known subject was arrested for burglary.
  • Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Snow’s Mill Rd. @ Jacks Creek Rd. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.

  • Prowler – A subject, with a flashlight, was seen on the front porch of a residence on Jack Glass Rd. Walton County deputies responded to the scene and checked the area, but had negative contact with the subject.
  • Drug Activity – Subjects were arrested on Hwy 78 for being in possession of marijuana after Walton County deputies made a traffic stop for speeding.

Zone 5

  • Arrest – A subject was arrested on Hwy 78 for suspicious of DUI-drugs.

Zone 6

  • Theft – An Xbox was taken from a residence on New Hope Church Rd.
  • Extra Patrol – A suspicious vehicle was reported in Cobblestone subdivision on Cobblestone Drive. The vehicle was described as an older model Jeep Cherokee, dark in color with a lime green stripe.

Zone 7

  • Theft – Farm equipment was reportedly taken from a residence on HD Atha Rd.
  • Extra Patrol – On Kent Rock Rd. an unknown person(s) damaged a fence that held horses. Extra Patrol was requested.
