Walton County Sheriff's Office Zone 5 Continues to Keep Deputies Busy

Between May 3 to 6, Walton County Sheriff's Office responded to many complaints, including vehicle accidents, burglary, fraud and vandalism - a majority of them originating in Zone 5.

The Walton County Sheriff's Office responded to the following calls between May 3 to 7, 2013.

Zone 1

  • Arrest – A subject was arrested for possession of marijuana on Highway 138 @ HD Atha Rd.

  • Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Unisia Drive near Hwy 83. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: Valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.

Zone 3

  • Extra Patrol – Extra Patrol was requested on Old Monroe Madison Rd in reference to a property being used as a dump.
  • Extra Patrol – Extra patrol was requested on Chickadee Drive.

  • Fraud – Internet fraud was reported on Michael Road when money was wired to an unknown subject in reference to renting a house for vacation.
  • Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to a vacant residence alarm on Wall Rd. Several juveniles were seen running behind the residence. A window to the back of the residence was found unsecured, but no entry was made. Property owner was contacted and advised of the situation. Extra Patrol requested.

Zone 5

  • Vehicle Accident – A single vehicle accident occurred on Hwy 78 between Cown Road and Nathan Blvd. The driver was arrested for an outstanding probation warrant.  
  • Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to an alarm on Overlook Lane in Providence Club. All windows and doors appeared secure.
  • Extra Patrol – A subject was observed doing “donuts” on the property of Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church on Hwy 81.
  • Burglary – A complaint was made on Hwy 78 referencing a former employee taking checks then forging and cashing them in Barrow County.
  • Suspicious Activity – A blue Nissan Sentra or Altima was seen at a vacant residence on Aaron Court in Crestview.
  • Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to an alarm on Providence Lane in Providence Club. All windows and doors appeared secure.
  • Vandalism – Trash was dumped at a residence on Forest Court in Forest Ridge subdivision.
  • Vandalism – Trash was dumped at a residence on Forest Court in Forest Ridge subdivision; this is the second occurrence.
  • Vandalism – A mailbox was pulled up and turned around backwards at a residence on Dogwood Lane in Forest Ridge subdivision.
  • Damage – A residence on Forest Ridge Drive in Forest Ridge subdivision was damaged by a large rock.
  • Vandalism – The property at a residence on Forest Drive in Forest Ridge subdivision was “rolled.”

Zone 6

  • Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to alarms at a business on Hwy 78 and Karlee Blvd. All appeared secure.
  • Vehicle Accident – A vehicle struck a tree on Hwy 78 @ Youth Monroe Rd. after running a stop sign.
  • Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to a vacant residence alarm on Shepherd’s Lane in reference to an unsecured front door. The residence was cleared and the key holder was notified.
  • Suspicious Person – A suspicious person was seen running away from a residence on Gum Creek Lane. Nothing appeared tampered with or missing.
  • Alarm – A business on Karlee Blvd. was found unsecured. The business was cleared and the key holder was advised.
  • Extra Patrol – Extra patrol was requested on Nunnally Farm Rd. in reference to several vehicles driving recklessly in the area damaging the roadway and property. Extra patrol requested.

Zone 7

  • Burglary – Medications and a laptop were taken from a residence on Hillview Drive.
  • Extra Patrol – Extra patrol was requested on Nunnally Farm Rd. in reference to several vehicles driving recklessly in the area damaging the roadway and property. Extra patrol requested.
  • Burglary – Medications and a laptop were taken from a residence on Hillview Drive.
