UPDATED WITH VIDEO: Walton County and Monroe Firefighters Battle House Fire

Monroe Fire Department assisted Walton County Fire and Rescue in battling a house fire on North Broad Street early Saturday afternoon.

UPDATE: With information from Monroe Fire Department by Lt. Bill Owens, public information officer.

The City of Monroe Fire Department responded with Walton County Fire Rescue to a structure fire at 1010 North Broad St. The fire was mostly in the attic area of the house and burned through the roof.

The original calls came into the fire station at approximately1:35 Saturday afternoon. It took responding units only minutes to arrive on the scene to begin combating the fire. Both Walton County and Monroe Fire crews worked together to bring the blaze under control.

At the time of this release the cause of the fire is still under investigation and no injuries have been reported from the fire. 

Walton County Fire and Rescue and Monroe Fire Department were called to a structure fire just outside the Monroe city limits early Saturday afternoon. The structure was a house on Broad Street just outside the Monroe city limits.
