A 9-year-old was airlifted to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston for treatment and both drivers involved were transported to Gwinnett Medical Center.

UPDATE: According to a spokesman with the Georgia State Patrol, three were injured in a crash that occurred at the intersection of Youth-Monroe and Ho Hum Hollow at 7:20 a.m. Wednesday.

A Ford Escape being driven by Gaye Fishburn, 62, from Monroe attempted to make a left turn onto Youth-Monroe from Ho Hum Hollow and turned into the path of a Honda Accord. The Honda was being driven by Cynthia Cole, 38, from Monroe, GSP reports. Both drivers were taken to Gwinnett Medical Center for treatment.  A passenger in the Honda, 9-year-old Levi Cole, was airlifted to CHOA Egleston for treatment.  A 2-year-old riding in a child safety seat was not injured. Fishburn was charged with failing to yield while turning left and Cole was charged with a seat belt violation.

Georgia State Patrol officials confirm that a serious wreck involving two vehicles on Youth Monroe Road south of Loganville on Wednesday morning resulted in at least one victim being airlifted to a hospital. According to the spokesman, the trooper is still at the hospital getting details. A victim is a child from Youth Elementary School.
