Mud Boggers Damage Baseball Field, Squatters Steal Natural Gas and Other WCSO Reports

Walton County Sheriff's Office Deputies investigated complaints of damage to a homemade baseball field as well as incidents of natural gas, identity and entering auto theft complaints during the period May 21 to 23, 2013.

This information was obtained from the Walton County Sheriff's Office Zone alerts from the period May 21 to 23, 2013.

Zone 1

  • Extra Patrol – A suspicious vehicle, occupied by two white males, was seen at Jersey Holiness Church. The vehicle was a gray station wagon, last seen traveling towards Monroe on Monroe Jersey Rd.
  • Damage to Property – A homemade baseball field on Serene Drive in Serenity Hills subdivision was damaged by “mud boggers”.
  • Theft of Services – Squatters at a residence in Lakeshore Estates on Sterling Drive possibly turned the gas back on at the residence and was receiving free natural gas from Social Circle Gas Company.
  • Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Cannon Farm Rd. @ Ashland Farm Rd. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.

  • Suspicious Person – A subject was seen at Oasis Store on Hwy 278 sleeping on a bench.

Zone 5

  • Suspicious Person – A white male wearing a black hoodie was seen looking in a vehicle on Piney Grove Rd. The subject appeared to be in his late 20’s and about 6 feet tall.
  • Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to a residential alarm on Stock Rd. All doors and windows appeared secure.
  • Theft – Miscellaneous items were taken from a residence on Hwy 11.
  • Entering Auto – A vehicle was entered on Arbor Drive in Arbor Springs subdivision. A credit card was taken out of a wallet and was later used in Dekalb County. The vehicle was unsecured.
  • Theft – Appliances were taken from a residence on Etchison Rd. Suspects have been named in the theft.
  • Entering Auto – Two vehicles were entered on Bullock Bridge Rd. Money was taken from one of the vehicles and nothing was taken from the other. Both vehicles had been left unsecured.
  • Identity Theft – A report was made on Roscoe Davis Rd. in reference to a subject applying for a fishing license using the complainant’s identification information.
  • Theft – Donated items are being taken from a thrift store on Hwy 81. Extra Patrol is requested.
  • Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Ozora Rd. @ Richmond Place. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.
  • Chase – A subject fled a safety check and was pursued to a Subdivision off Tribble Mill Rd. The subject was arrested after a foot chase ensued.

  • Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on N Sharon Church Rd. @ Oakland Lane. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, insurance and vehicle registration.
  • Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to an alarm on Saddlebrook Drive in Saddelbrook subdivision. All doors and windows appeared secure.
  • Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to an alarm on Holly Ridge Drive in Cevera Lakes subdivision. All doors and windows appeared secure.
  • Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to an alarm on Gum Creek Church Rd. All doors and windows appeared secure.
  • Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to an alarm on Blue Springs Drive in Meadows at Blue Springs subdivision. All doors and windows appeared secure.
  • Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on N Sharon Church Rd. @ Yorkshire Estates. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.
  • Vehicle Breakdown – A vehicle was towed from the turning lane @ 78 Broadnax Mill Rd. The vehicle was unoccupied and had been left with no warning lights on.
  • Firearms – A subject on Governors Circle in Lake Serene Subdivision was advised to stop discharging firearms.

Zone 7

  • Burglary Report – Damages were made to the latch on the back door of a residence on Greenhill Way. No items were missing from the residence.
  • Theft or Lost Property – A cellphone was taken from the neighborhood pool in Woodlake subdivision.
  • Trespassing/Vandalism – Multiple beer cans, clothes and other yard décor were thrown into a pool on Hawthorne Trace. The subjects claimed to be friends of the residents..
