MPD Cracks Down on Drug Activity in the City of Monroe

Several people have been arrested in recent months by Monroe Police Department in connection wtih drug operations.

Monroe Police Chief Keith Glass said a number of drug related arrests in recent weeks was the result of routine operations. However, it has disrupted several drug operations in the city. Glass said although some of the arrests did involve people who were working in conjunction, most were not connected. The arrests just happen to be timely.

According to a recent story in The Walton Tribune, a total of 14 people were arrested during a four-month operation, five of them last week. Arrest in the operation were:

  • Joshua Jabar Smith, 28, of 1211 S. Madison Ave., Monroe, charged with sale of cocaine and sale of schedule II narcotics
  • Mekia Wymbs, 35, of 421 Maple Lane, Monroe, charged with sale of crack cocaine
  • Quintavious Smith, 21, of 707 Lacy St., charged with possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute
  • Turkessa Sheets, 22, of 707 Lacy St., Monroe, charged with possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute
  • Antonio Brown, 40, of 517 Green St., Monroe, charged with sale of crack cocaine and sale of marijuana
  • Shundra Gray, 23, of 430B Plaza Drive, Monroe, charged with sale of marijuana and possession of marijuana within 1,000 feet of government housing (No image included)
  • Bennie Crutchfield, 66, and Wilma Crutchfield, 63, of 550 Green St., Monroe - both charged with sale of crack cocaine
  • Karen Crutchfield, 42, of 556 Green St., Monroe, charged with possession with intent to distribute
  • Douglas Moss, 40, of Madison, charged with two counts of sale of schedule II narcotics
  • Travor Judy, 19, of 945 Dogwood Trail, Monroe, charged with sale of schedule II narcotics, sale of schedule IV narcotics and sale of methamphetamine
  • Brent Springer, 30, of 1693 Tiperary Circle, Monroe, charged with two counts of sale of schedule II narcotics (No image included)
  • Kip Jamison, 41, of 341 Alexander Crossing, Loganville, charged with sale of schedule II narcotics
  • Joshua Bryant, 24, of Greensboro, charged with sale of methamphetamine.
