Monroe Man Faces Charges in Motorcycle Fatality

George Latimore, 54, of Monroe died in a motorcycle accident on Saturday afternoon. Georgia State Patrol said charges are pending against a 23-year-old Monroe man involved in the collision.

George Latimore, 54, died at Grady Hospital in Atlanta on Saturday afternoon after a motorcycle wreck on Youth Monroe Road, south of Loganville. A spokesman with Georgia State Patrol said the driver of the other vehicle involved in the collission, Nicholas Seth Clark, 23, also of Monroe, will face charges in connection with the accident.

According to the GSP, Latimore was traveling west on Youth Monroe Road on his motorcycle and a Hyundai Elantra, driven by Clark, was eastbound. Clark was stopped, preparing to make a left turn into a driveway, and turned in front of the motorcycle. The motorcycle hit the car in the right rear fender.

The investigation has been turned over to the Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team and charges are pending, GSP reports.

I wonder why there are two posts for this same story with two different angles. This one is wrote to make it sound like the driver of the car is already guily while the other one clearly states it is not known if any charges will be pressed against him. So if you see this post please look on the site for the second post about this story.

Victoria, the first story was written before the GSP had completed the investigation. The second story was a follow-up when they named the second driver and said that charges were pending against him. However, they have not said yet what those charges will be. I will update it again once I have the information.

I've just checked back with the GSP and the complete investigation is still ongoing and could take weeks, even longer. Only then will the findings be taken before the district attorney to decide if and what charges will be filed.

George was a great friend of mine and I going to miss him dearly. Geroge touched everybody life that he came in contact with. He always found away to make you smile or laugh before he left your sight. His spirit will live on through all those who knew and love him. Mattie, family and friends keep your head up and remember and cherish all the things that George would say and do. God has called him home and we must all go. It's time for everyone to get it together because we never no when our number will be call. I love you all dearly and right now my heart is heavy but I am going to keep praying and praying for the family. Like Georga always tell me "Tee pray for me". Well Geroge I always have and will continue to pray for you and the family as long as I live..... I Love you All. "Tonya A. Byrd(Tee) Riding with you for life, no matter what"
