Burglaries, Suspicious People in Neighborhoods Continue to Plague WCSO

Walton County Sheriff's Deputies also dealt with a stolen U-Haul truck and several incidents of entering auto.

Walton County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the following calls during the period March 28 - 31, 2013.

Zone 1

  • Entering Auto – Several vehicles were entered at a car lot on Hwy. 138. Motor parts were taken from the vehicles.
  • Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to an alarm on Habersham Circle in Broken Arrow subdivision. Windows and doors appeared secure.
  • Theft Report – A theft occurred at a residence on Paul Smith Road. Suspects were named in the theft.
  • Burglary – A burglary report was made at a residence on Hwy 138. Paperwork was the only thing taken from the residence.

  • Suspicious Vehicle – A suspicious burgundy Oldsmobile was seen in the Grand Oaks subdivision off Knox Chapel Road.
  • Extra Patrol – Mailboxes were damaged on County Line Road. Extra patrol requested in the area.
  • Extra Patrol – Three white males were reported riding around the Mount Paron Church Rd. area possibly looking for scrap metal. Scrap metal was seen on the back of the truck. The subjects were driving a black Ford pick-up truck.
  • Suspicious Activity – A white juvenile female and a white male with tattoos hand delivered a Windstream telephone book to a resident on Hwy 11 requesting that he sign for it. The couple left in a small blue passenger vehicle toward Monroe.

 Zone 3

  • Suspicious Vehicle – A suspicious red SUV was seen riding around a bus stop on Laboon Road. The SUV reportedly slowed down and opened a door.
  • Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to an alarm call on Brentwood Blvd. in Brentwood subdivision. All windows and doors appeared secure.
  • Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to alarm calls on Thomas Drive in Falls at Rocky Branch subdivision and Brush Creek Drive in Brush Creek subdivision. All windows and doors appeared secure.
  • Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to an alarm call on Evergreen Drive in Clearwater Estates. All windows and doors were found secure.

  • Trespassing – A resident on Jim Daws Rd. reported hearing someone open his shed. When the shed was checked, the lock was discovered broken. Nothing was reported missing.

 Zone 5

  • Trespassing – A subject was found squatting at a residence on Ridgewood Rd. The subject was issued a citation for Criminal Trespass and was escorted off the property. The subject resides at a nearby residence in the area.
  • Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to an alarm call on Wedgewood Drive in the Highlands subdivision. The alarm was cancelled by the alarm company.
  • Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to an alarm call on Meredith Drive in Meredith Lake subdivision. All windows and doors were found secure.
  • Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to an alarm call on Deep Wood Drive in Deep Wood Farms subdivision. All windows and doors were found secure.
  • Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to an alarm call on Maple Creek Avenue in Maple Creek subdivision. All windows and doors were found secure.
  • Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to an alarm call on Lovers Lane in Gossling Farms subdivision. All windows and doors were found secure.
  • Stolen Vehicle – A U-Haul truck was taken from Hwy 78 at E. Piedmont Mechanical.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Trespassing warnings were issued to subjects on Etchison Rd. at an undeveloped subdivision.

Zone 6

  • Suspicious Vehicle – Two white males in a teal-colored Toyota Camry rang the doorbell at a residence on Sycamore Way and sat in the driveway for 10-15 minutes. The area was checked with no contact.
  • Trespass – A subject tried to take a bag full of termite bait boxes from Team Pest USA Exterminating. The subject may be driving a Toyota Sequoia. Extra Patrol requested.
  • Fraud – A subject reportedly contacted a resident on Executive Drive via phone and “conned” the resident into sending money.
  • Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Gum Creek Church Rd. @ Buck Smith Rd. Deputies checked for the proper driving criteria: validity of driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.
  • Vandalism – Unknown persons forced entry into the fellowship hall at the Holy Family Catholic Church. The property was damaged.
  • Burglary – Unknown persons entered a residence and stole firearms from a residence on Logan’s Run.
  • Extra Patrol – Eggs were thrown into a yard on Cobblestone Drive in Cobblestone subdivision. Extra Patrol was requested.

Zone 7

  • Damage to Property – Unknown persons drove on the 13th green at Bear Creek Golf Course causing damages.
