GDP Now Forming Youth Track Team

GDP is a Monroe based track / cross country team with a proven record of success. We are seeking new recruits to help them become the runner / person they want to be.

FAQ
How is GDP better than the school's team?
-Rather than training you for a seasonal sport, GDP will help you develop a healthy lifestyle. School athletic associations restrict practice opportunities. GDP is not bound by those ridiculous rules. Most of the physiological gains one would make during a seasonal sport are lost when the season ends. GDP builds upon your gains.

What events does GDP specialize in?
- We focus on developing your aerobic capacity; which is critical in every running event beyond 100 meters. The 100 needs very little aerobic development. The longer the distance, the deeper your aerobic capacity will need to be.

Who is the coach?
-Me. Paul Finch. I have coached several runners; two of which own every record at your school from the 800 meters to the cross country 5000. One recently won the Foot Locker South 13-14 event. To become the best person you can possibly be in this endeavor, you will need 7 things:
1) good competition
2) good training / coach
3) consistency (developing a healthy lifestyle beyond the school's window of practice opportunity)
4) confidence in your training / coach
5) development of your aerobic capacity (again coach / training)
6) patience (there are no overnight sensations in this sport)
7) support from parents and team.
I am proud to say GDP is the only team in Walton County who can offer you all of these things.

How much does it cost?
-Nothing. Gratis is Spanish for "free". You will only pay for your uniform ($45), USA Track and Field membership ($15), and meet fees (usually $10 per kid).

What ages does GDP coach?
-6th grade thru 12th grade. Many parents run with us, too, instead of simply waiting and watching.

Where does GDP practice?
-Mathews Park, Athens Tech (Monroe campus), Gratis country roads, Georgia Aquatic Center (Watkinsville), Spec Towns Track (UGA).
