Obituary and Final Arrangements: George Stewart, 85, of Monroe

George Stewart, age 85 of Monroe, GA passed away January 9, 2013.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Hilda Petty Stewart, sons, Gerald Clyde Stewart and George Derald Stewart.  He is survived by his daughters, Darlene Stewart Young and her husband Buster, Dena Stewart Gaines and her husband Tommy; son, Darris Petty Stewart and his wife Deborah; grandchildren, Leigha Y. Burnham, Daron T. Young, George B. Stewart, Gerald G. Stewart, Lanier T. Gaines, Austin S. Gaines, Jarred D. Gaines, R. Bowen Stewart, Hannah G. Stewart; great grandchildren, Jace Burnham, Cason Burnham, Tate Burnham, Lauren Young, Ryan Young, sister; Juanita Stewart Davis and many nieces and nephews.
 
Mr. Stewart retired from Astor Food and enjoyed traveling to Durango CO. to see the Aspens.  He loved antiquing and enjoyed riding his tractor.
 
A Graveside Service Celebrating the Life of George Stewart will be held Saturday, January 12 at 2pm at Westview Cemetery with Pastor Cory Sexton officiating.  The family will receive friends Friday from 6pm until 9pm, at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers please make donations to Abbey Hospice, 215 Azalea Court, Social Circle, GA 30025, in memory of George Stewart.  Condolences may be viewed or sent to www.wagesfuneralhome.com.
