Benefits Planned for Jacob Little's Family

The community shows support for the Monroe teen killed in a hit-and-run last week.

Local businesses are planning fundraisers this week to help the family of 16-year-old Jacob Little, the Monroe Area High School student who was killed on Aug. 27 in a hit-and-run.

Piedmont Mechanical Contractors and Between Mini Storage will hold a benefit yard sale on Saturday, Sept. 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1071 US 78 in Monroe. Donations are currently being accepted. Call 770- 266-4040 for more information.

In addition to the sale, event organizers are planning to have a bouncy house, face painting and other activities.  All of the money collected will go to Jacob's family.

Also this week, Sept. 3-10, Papa John's on West Spring Street will be giving $2 from every order placed to Jacob's family.

In addition, donations may be made to "Funds for Jacob Little" through any Wells Fargo bank branch.
