Thieves Use Stolen Vehicle for Liquor Store Smash-and-Grab - Midtown Patch

Mac’s Beer and Wine in Midtown was burglarized early Wednesday morning when thieves utilized a vehicle to conduct a destructive smash-and-grab.

According to Atlanta Police Officer Kim Jones, thieves smashed a stolen blue Dodge Durango through the large glass doors of the store. After quickly raiding the business of high-end liquors and champagnes, the thieves made their getaway in a second stolen vehicle, a white van, leaving the sport utility vehicle stuck in the store amid broken bottles and spilled spirits everywhere.

HP Creating 200 Jobs in Metro Area - Alpharetta Patch

HP is moving its Customer Solution Center support to Alpharetta from Rio Rancho, NM, creating 200 jobs in Alpharetta.

In May 2012, HP announced a restructuring plan designed to simplify business processes, accelerate innovation and deliver better results for customers, employees and stockholders. An HP spokesperson said as part of that plan and in an effort to drive efficiencies, the Jan. 7 announcement to transition all Customer Solution Center (CSC) support currently delivered from New Mexico to Alpharetta.

Armed Robber Thwarted by Screaming Woman - East Atlanta Patch

A woman's screams were enough to scare off a would-be crook who tried to rob her and another woman at gunpoint Wednesday night.

The victim told police that she and her friend were walking on Peace Avenue in the Bedford Pines section shortly after 9 p.m. when a man approached and pointed a gun at them.
