Meeting Planned to Discuss Coyote Problem - Decatur Patch

Decatur neighborhoods have complained about coyotes for years. The last flurry of complaints came in late 2011 after a resident of the East Parkwood Road neighborhood saw a coyote snatch her cat off the front porch.

Decatur officials adhere to the live-and-let-live philosophy with coyotes, saying eradication only allows new groups of coyotes to move in.

Marijuana Reform Group Reaches out to Gov. Deal - Roswell Patch

Advocates for marijuana law reform are calling on the state of Georgia to suspend the arrest and prosecution of marijuana possession cases, according to a recent release from Georgia Campaign for Access, Reform, & Education (Georgia CARE).

The call comes after state prosecutors said they lack the resources to prosecute a back log of child exploitation cases in a January press conference.

Father Gets 20 Years in Prison for Severely Injuring Infant - Douglasville Patch

A 24-year-old father will spend 20 years in prison after being sentenced on child abuse charges for shaking his five-month-old son so hard that it caused brain swelling, bleeding of blood vessels in the eyes and blindness, according to Douglas County District Attorney David McDade

Archie Jarrell Isom of Lithia Springs received a 30-year sentence by Superior Court Judge David T. Emerson after entering a guilty plea to two counts of aggravated battery.
