Plans to open the Winder ALDI store before Thanksgiving have come to fruition — the store is set to open Thursday, Nov. 1, well before the Nov. 22 holiday.
“We are pleased to bring a store to Winder to help customers get high-quality products at everyday low prices,” Thom Behtz, Jefferson division vice president for ALDI, said in a news release announcing the grand opening. “We challenge shoppers to switch from national brands to our high-quality exclusive brands and save up to 50 percent without compromising. As important as price is, the only way to attract and keep shoppers is to have quality products.”
A ribbon cutting is planned for 8:45 a.m. and customers are invited to sample ALDI exclusive brand products, tour the store and shop for their favorite grocery items. Customers can also enter an on-site sweepstakes for a chance to win fall grilling and baking essentials, including a new grill, as well as other prizes.
The Winder store will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sundays. ALDI accepts cash, debit and EBT cards. According to the company, the store was constructed using environmentally-friendly building materials, such as recycled materials and energy-saving refrigeration and light bulbs.
