Local Musician's Song Hits the Twittersphere via Keith Urban, Taylor Swift

Florida-Georgia Line, the country music duo that includes Monroe's Tyler Hubbard, hits the twitter feeds of both Keith Urban and Taylor Swift in the same week - a sure sign good things are on the way.

You know you're on your way up when the words to your song are tweeted out by music giants such as Keith Urban and Taylor Swift.

Local fans of the country duo Florida Georgia Line were psyched to see that not only is the group's hit "Cruise" making it's way up the Country Music Charts, but also that it has caught the ear of some big names in the business.

On Sept. 23, Urban tweeted,

Find out what's happening in Monroewith free, real-time updates from Patch.

Can't stop playing cruise by @FLAGALine! Crazy cool toon!!!!! -KU

Then on Sept. 26, Swift followed up with this tweet:

Find out what's happening in Monroewith free, real-time updates from Patch.

Doing interviews w/ a song stuck in my head = "Focus. Answer the question. BABY YOU A SONG, YOU MAKE ME WANNA ROLL MY WINDOWS DOWN AND CRUISE."

With Swift's almost 19 million followers and Urbans more than 495,000, that's some reach. The single has been getting a lot of play time around the country, especially since the music video of "Cruise" was released last month. It is the signature tune on their first EP, "It'z Just What We Do." Florida Georgia Line is an country duo made up of Tyler Hubbard from Monroe Ga. and Brian Kelley from Florida.

"Cruise" is now No. 4 on iTunes charts. Florida Georgia Line is currently on tour and playing to sold out crowds across the country. They have three concerts in Georgia between now and the end of the year, one in Rome on Oct. 25, another at Wild Bills on Nov. 9 and Savannah on Nov. 10. Tickets for the Rome concert go on sale at 10 a.m. today. Anyone interested in buying tickets might want to hurry - the next four concerts are already sold out.

Information about Florida Georgia Line can be found on their Facebook Page. The song can be downloaded on iTunes and information about tour dates, locations and tickets can be found on the official website.
