Florida Georgia Line to Play Georgia Theatre in Athens in March

The performance, however, has already sold out.

Florida-Georgia Line, the country music duo featuring Brian Kelley from Florida and Monroe, Ga.’s own Tyler Hubbard, added an Athens performance to their busy tour schedule this year - but if you don't have tickets already you're out of luck. Like many of the shows for this duo, the March 20, 2013 performance at Georgia Theatre in Athens is already sold out.

The next time Florida Georgia Line is scheduled to perform in the local area is July 14, 2013 at Aaron's Amphitheatre at Lakewood in Atlanta. Those tickets are not yet on sale.

Since signing with Republic Records in the summer of 2012, Florida Georgia Line has seen their star rising at amazing speed. Not only did their debut single “Cruise” go Gold in October and then Platinum in a matter of weeks, but they also got to introduce music superstar Taylor Swift at the American Music Awards. In November, “Cruise” went to No. 2 on the Country Billboard Charts, and by December it hit No. 1 on Country Music Radio. With Hubbard's hometown connections, it's not surprising that "Cruise" is the No. 1 requested song on the jukebox at Waffle House in Monroe. Their debut album "Here's to the Good Times, which includes "Cruise," went on sale in December.

Some of their tour dates are with Luke Bryan in his Dirt Road Diaries Tour. That is not the case, however, with the performance in Athens and many of the other sold out dates, where Florida Georgia Line gets top billing.

Hubbard grew up in Monroe, attending Monroe Elementary School, George Walton Academy and Loganville Christian Academy. His family still lives in the Walton County area.
