UPDATE: Become Part of Monroe-GA Patch's First Calendar

Last day to contribute your best pictures of Monroe, Ga. during 2013 and have them become part of Monroe, Ga. Patch's Online calendar for 2014.

UPDATE: Today is the last day to contribute photos to Monroe-GA Patch for a chance to have the photo chosen for the December 2013 Monroe-GA Calendar. We already have some amazing choices. If you have a picture, taken in the Monroe area, that you want chosen, please be sure to mark it "for calendar entry" and upload it to Monroe Pics and Clips. From Dec. 26 - 31, the entries will be listed for readers to vote on their choice.

Loganville-Grayson and Monroe-GA Patch sites are part of a regional Picture of the Day contest and I'm always amazed and the quality of some of our local photographs. It just seems such a pity not to find a better showcase for the very best of them.

So here's my plan.

Starting this month, December 2012, please contribute photos of the landscape in and around Monroe, Ga. From the 25th of each month, I will showcase them on Monroe-GA Patch and you can help me choose the best one for that month. The last one will be chosen in November 2013 and this month's choice will be the one that will feature in December 2014.

These will be compiled into a 2014 Monroe-GA Patch Online calendar to go out to all our newsletter subscribers in December 2013. I have included some examples from our pics and clips of what type of photos will make a great Monroe-GA Patch calendar. I had to run this by our legal department to get clearance for it, so I do need to point out the following:

By submitting your photograph you acknowledge you have read and agree to Patch’s Terms of Service (TOS) located at
http://www.patch.com/terms . Submissions must not contain any third-party material or content (including but not limited to any company logos or trademarks), people or pets.

Entries need to be local to Monroe and not to include any people or pets. Something like a horse in a pasture, however, would be acceptable. Photos need to be uploaded to pics and clips with your name, where it was taken and a notation that it is a "Calendar entry for (month)." These entries can be included in the regional picture of the week contest as well though.

I am really excited about this contest and hope that it goes so well that other Patch sites pick up the idea. In the meantime, however, this is our special project. Loganville-Grayson Patch and Monroe-GA Patch will have the first Online Patch calendars featuring the landscape and scenery of the local area - as seen through the lenses of our local shutterbugs.

So snap away guys, this contest is officially launched!
