Monroe Wreck Saturday Results in Woman Being Lifeflighted to a Hospital

A single car wreck on Ho Hum Hollow Road in Monroe on Saturday evening resulted in a woman being lifeflighted to an area hospital.

A spokesman with Georgia State Patrol confirmed that a single vehicle wreck on Ho Hum Hollow Road in Monroe at about 6:20 p.m. Saturday resulted in a woman being airlifted to an area hospital.

The wreck involved a Ford Expedition in a collision with a tree. There was only one injury and it required an extrication, according to the GSP. A helicopter was called for transportation of the victim to a hospital. This is the second serious accident on Ho Hum Hollow Road in less than a month. Three people were injured at the intersection of Ho Hum Hollow and Youth Monroe Road on Oct. 31.

Details on Saturday's wreck to follow.

Too many sharp ( I mean REAL sharp) curves.

Avoid this road like a nosy neighbor.

Patch, get some little icons like Walton (soon to be Tribute) Tribune.

Life goes better with funny faces not -----> :)

Take a look at the comment section on Walton (soon to be Tribute) Tribune
There is a pull down menu when you enter a comment.
They just add some fun to the dialogue.

Of course HRH Brian, The Current, still has me in the FIRST AMENDMENT cage.
I am like a puppy with his nose to the window.

Are you going to subscribe the "New. Improved" WT online edition ?
Only 60 bucks.

I think I can buy a subscription to Playboy for about the same amount and get a lot more laughs.

I hope the "Answer Grape" is still one of the sections.
The centerfolds are always useful if you are trying to escape from Shawshank.

My daughter witnessed the accident on sat evening with the Expedition. She came straight home to get me and her dad. We left immediately to go to the scene and called 911. The victim was pinned in the car from the tree. She still had a pulse, but was unconscious. We stayed there while the first responders worked tirelessly to remove the lady. I can't stop thinking of her and praying that she made it thru this horrific accident. If anyone knows who she is or where she was taken, please update.

So sorry to hear that Erica - but sometimes that is a good thing. Often a coma is medically induced to help in healing. I hope that is the case here! I don't yet have a name to release and will only do so in the article once I have the official report from the GSP. In the meantime, if family or friends want to give us an update in comments, we welcome the updates. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim in the wreck and the family and friends.

Status Update for Jennifer Phillips Ford:

-> Lungs are showing great improvement

-> the ventilator is going to be turned down some to stimulate breathing on her own, but she is going to stay on it

-> A chest X-ray revealed 2 broken ribs we didn't know about previously

-> Brain injury is being described as stable with a possible slight improvement with regards to swelling, the neuro doctor will update later with more information

-> pending a good neuro review, she may have an eye socket repair surgery in the next day or two

As I know more, I will update.

I will do an update this afternoon. I have spoken to the GSP Trooper regarding details of the accident, but those are a little sketchy since nobody has been able t speak to Jennifer at this time. Her husband, Darren, has been giving updates on her condition on Facebook. Although she is obviously still struggling to deal with her injuries, there does appear to be more hopeful news. http://www.facebook.com/dlford52?fref=ts

Jennifer is still in a coma, the doctors have no ideal when she will wake up. OR IF SHE WILL .With mounting medical bills a fund has been set up at all Essex banks for donations she has a husband and two children age 10 and 7
