Residents in 30655 and 30656 zip codes in Monroe, Ga. have donated more than $9,200 to President Barack Obama and Gov. Mitt Romney, according to the Federal Election Commission.
Romney got the lion's share of the support with donations to his campaign at more than $8 to each $1 given to Obama's campaign.
Most of the funds raised by Romney were in substantial amounts, while those raised by Obama were in smaller amounts, sometimes as small as $3. In many instances, however, these smaller donations were from the same individual, totaling a larger donation from one person.
