Some Positive News From Family of Victim of Ho Hum Hollow Road Wreck
The victim of a wreck on Ho Hum Hollow Road in Monroe on Nov. 10 remains in a coma in the hospital, but her husband is reporting some encouraging signs.
Jennifer Ford, 29, of Monroe, has been in a coma in Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville since Nov. 10 when she was airlifted to Gwinnett Medical following a single vehicle wreck on Ho Hum Hollow Road. The community has rallied around her family, but her condition has been critical and her recovery slow. Up until now, there realy has been little in the way of positive news for her family to report.
But that appears to be turning around. Her husband, Darren Ford, posted the following update on his Facebook page on Saturday.
Now, since I am talking about improvements, I must brag on her because she followed her first command last night since the accident 21 days ago. I asked her to give me a "thumbs up", and so she gave me two great-big thumbs up. She seems to be getting so much better each day it is unbelievable... I know she has to be getting close to opening her eyes because of her actions. As much as we all miss her, I know she misses us just as much... I know she is in there kicking and screaming just trying to get out. We all know her as a fighter and that is what she is doing best right now.
Ford said they also received more good news on Friday - that his wife had been accepted at the Shepherd Center, and that she would be moved this week.
As I conclude this joyous update, I want to thank everyone once more for your continued support. The strength and support of our friends and family is so incredibly powerful I cannot even begin to put it into words. You all have truly been great, and we have been blessed.
Ford said he will continue to update on his wife's recovery. He said he would particularly like to thank the community for their care, concern and prayers for his family.
