Despite Complaints, Mosquito-Infested Toilet Remains on BoulevardEast Atlanta Patch

Wayne Brawner isn't trying to fight Atlanta City Hall.

All the Old Fourth Ward homeowner says he wants is for the city government to enforce its codes.

But two issues stretching over a year — one involving an illegal street parking sign and the other a mosquito-infested toilet in the lot adjacent to his Boulevard home — has him flustered and flushed.

"The city not following their code," Brawner explained, showing scores of e-mail correspondence with city officials over longstanding problems he's identified in his community.

Animal Control Finds Macaw in TreeEast Cobb Patch

You've probably seen countless ads on telephone poles searching for the owners of found dogs or cats, but when was the last time you saw one for a macaw?

Cobb County Animal Control located the blue Macaw in a tree in the 500 block of Commerce Park Drive in Marietta at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday. An Animal Control officer took the bird to the shelter.

Several parrot rescue groups have already enquired about the bird and are willing to take it in if the bird's owner does not come forward.

Guitar Collection Valued at Over $100,000 RecoveredMarietta Patch

Thursday, Sept. 5, Marietta Police discovered a cache of guitar cases and amplifiers on a deserted private drive near Lockheed Elementary School off Merritt Road valued at over $100,000. 

The stock pile of musical instruments, which consisted of 13 guitars, two amplifiers and various related equipment, was found approximately 100 yards off the main road near a wooded area. 

Detectives were able to make contact with one of the companies that made some of the recovered guitars and found an owner of the equipment through company records. 

The owner was notified. His house was burglarized in another county two days prior.
