4-Year-Old from Monroe Killed in Single Vehicle Wreck in Morgan County
A second Monroe resident was airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center and the driver was transported to Morgan Memorial Hospital. Charges are pending.
A spokesperson with the Georgia State Patrol confirmed that Joshua Allen Cole, 4, from Monroe, died in a single vehicle accident on Georgia 83 Monday. It happened at about 4:55 p.m. four miles north of Madison in Morgan County.
According to GSP, a 1999 VW New Beetle, driven by Cynthia Lynn Miller, age 50, of Monroe, left the roadway while negotiating a curve. The driver overcorrected causing the vehicle to rotate across both lanes and leave the road on the left side, hitting a tree.
The 4-year-old died in the wreck and a front seat passenger, Brandy Malcolm, age unknown, from Monroe, was airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center with a head injury. The driver was taken by ground ambulance to Morgan Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Charges are pending, but are not available at this time.

Not sure how accurate the rest of this information is but the passenger who was life flighted was Brandy Coe, age 33 of Monroe, Ga.

Georgina, I have checked that with the authorities. They definitely have her as Brandy Malcom, but I believe it is the same person who goes by the name of Coe - her maiden name - now.

That is what I have heard too Kim, but the authorities - which is where we have to get out official information from, have her listed as Malcom. I have asked them to check and verify and they have come back twice now and said, "officially" it is Malcom. It is likely that she legally changed her name when she got married and has never made any legal change to it. However, I'm sure to those who know her well, do know her as Brandy Coe. Thanks for keeping us informed.

Brandy is doing well. She is at the Shephards Spinal Center now and they r going to do as much as they can to see if they can get her walking at least a little anyways so that she is not always in the wheelchair. I went and seen her Tuesday and shw is looking very good cinsidering how bad the crash was. This Joshua Coles mother and unforunatly there is nothing I can do for my sweet precious child. If I would have known that my mother (the grandmother) was intoxicated in any way i would have no le him go. SO PLEASE DON'T THINK OF ME AS A BAD MOM. I have a 7 year oldand a 9 year old stepson and i would not have done anything to hur or lose my three children.
